About

Cubbylist started the way most side projects do — out of frustration.

When I started looking for daycare in British Columbia, I quickly realized the process was a mess. The BC government publishes data on 5,400+ licensed facilities, but it's buried in a CSV file. Google Maps helps with reviews, but you can't filter by age group, distance, or availability. And once you start calling daycares, tracking who you've contacted, what they said, and where you're waitlisted becomes its own spreadsheet nightmare.

I built Cubbylist to solve this for myself. It pulls in the government data, scores daycares based on what actually matters to my family, and gives me one place to track the whole search. No more cross-referencing tabs. No more forgetting which daycare said they'd call back.

I'm sharing it because I know I'm not the only parent who's been through this. The daycare search in BC is uniquely stressful — long waitlists, limited spots, and not enough information to make confident decisions. If Cubbylist can save even a few parents some of that stress, it's worth it.
